Calathea Rare Plants

Updated: Jul 20, 2021

In this post I will be rating every plant in uncommon, rare, very rare, extremely rare, and if applicable outstandingly rare. These plants are listed in commercial rarity. This means how easy it is to buy the plant. This does not mean that a very rare plant is cheaper than a rare plant. I may do posts in the future on pricing. Also their is not an outstandingly rare plant in every post because not every species of plant has one. This is only a general guide. For example what is rare here in the U.S. may not be rare in Canada or Europe.

You may want to have a notepad and pen so you can write down any plants that you like. If their are any misspelled plant names let me know on the chat page.

Here are some common Calathes's jsut to give you an idea of what Calathea look like.

Calathea Lancifolia, Peacock, Ornata, and Medallion

1) Calathea Velvet Touch or Warscewiczii (Uncommon)

This Calathea is known for its beautiful leaves and also for being a bit of a deva.

2) Calathea Vittata (Uncommon)

This plant is an easier plant to take care of then most Calathea's. I have found that these plants like to be watered constantly.

3) Calathea Roseopicta Corona (Rare)

This plant is simple but it still has that pink blush that some Calathea's get.

4) Calathea White Star (Rare)

This Prayer Plant is not as nice as it looks. I do not think you will like this plant because it is not easy to take care of it.

5) Calathea Musaica or Network (Rare)4

This Calathea is actual not that bad. It grows extremely fast.

6) Calathea White Fusion (Rare)

This plant is known to be a deva and I agree. I have four of these and they grow a lot. Mine are in humidity domes so they don't bother me too much.

7) Calathea Bella (Very Rare)

8) Calathea Flamestar (Extremely Rare)

This Calathea is very nice but pricey.

9) Calathea Roundafolia (Extremely Rare)

This Calathea reminds of the Fasciata.

10) Calathea Crocata or External Flame (Extremely Rare)

11) Calathea Pavonii (Extremely Rare)

12) Calathea Silver Plate (Extremely Rare)

13) Luteam (Outstandingly Rare)

This Calathea looks a lot like a Bird of Paradise.

14) Calathea Crotalifera (Outstandingly Rare)

This Calathea is known as the Rattlesnake plant because of its flowers.
