Common Houseplant Fears

dereklobaugh

People can fear houseplants. They don't want to do something wrong or kill their plants. In this post, I will address these and give some tips or tricks to help keep whatever it is from happening to your plants. This Post will benefit those beginners or even those who are experienced. It can help relieve them or give them a way to fix the issue.

1) Overwatering

The best fix would be to stick your finger in to feel if the soil is dry. Although the best option is to wait for the plant to verbally tell you that it needs water.

2) Leaving and Coming Back to Death of Plants!

The easiest thing to do would be to water your plants before you leave, closing the shades, and keeping the temperature low in your house.

3) Pests

They can be a big pain in your but. My biggest tip would be to do preventive care. This includes using mixtures like vinegar and water to keep them away from pests. And then keeping them contained when they do get infected.

4) Fertilizer

You can over-fertilize your plant, but follow the directions on the package of fertilizer.

5) Toxic Plants

The best thing would be to put them on the top shelves. Even if a plant is eaten, it would probably make them puke and you would be done. You would have to eat a couple of them for them to actually hurt you.

6) Mold

Leaves will most likely not cause mold on your walls.

7) Fear of too big of plants

Chop them!

8) Afraid to cut them

It will not hurt them. Plants actually come back better when they are cut.
