1) Can water droplets burn leaves?

Water droplets can only burn leaves if it is a pubescent leaf. Otherwise, water will not burn the leaves.


2) Will more fertilizer save my dying plant?

In most cases, a bunch of fertilizer will not save a dying plant. It will however burn the leaves and roots.


3) Cactus don't need water.

Here is another big myth. The fact that Cactus don't need water. They do not need to be watered often, but when they are watered they need a lot of water.


4) Water plants in the morning only.

You can water plants whenever you want. Although you may get guttation if you water at night (water on the leaves), your plants will be fine.


5) Plants steal your oxygen at night.

Plants do release carbon monoxide at night, but they can't hurt you. You can not fit enough plants in a room to kill you.


6) Do indoor plants go dormant?

Indoor plants can go dormant, but can also be tricked.


7) Misting your houseplants increases humidity

It does not increase humidity on your plants for more than a couple of seconds.


8) Bigger pot equals a bigger plant

Not only does this not work. It leads to root rot and growth stunt.


9) Droopy leaves mean it needs water.

Droopy leaves can mean your plant needs water, but it does not always. It can mean things like overwatering, pests, too much light, or not enough light.


10) Low Light Means No Light

Most low light plants are actually plants that can tolerate low light but prefer medium to high indirect light. Low light is if you can comfortably read a book in a space with no lights on.


11) Watering Schedule

You can not put a schedule on watering plants. Plants need to be watered at different times because of temperature, humidity, and light.


12) Letting tap water sit overnight purify's it.

Short answer is it does not.


13) Re-pot your plant when you bring it home.

Your plant is stressed when you bring it home anyways. Re-potting it can stress it even more. It can even stunt the plant.
