Watering

Hoya's are a plant that like to dry out completley between waterings. If you are using a moisture meter let it get to the 2. These plants are super drought tolerant so do not worry about if you forget to water it

Light

These plants prefer bright indirect light and can handle direct light in the morning. The lowest of light Hoya's can handle is medium light.

Window

The best window for this plant is a west window but these hardy plants will still do amazing in a South or East window. I do not recommend North Windows for this plant and keep these plants 5 feet from a south window that gets a lot of direct light.

Easy Scale

These plants are Medium plants to take care of because of pests, light requirements, and because of their weird stems.

Soil

Hoya's love a well-draining soil mix. I use Miracle grow in the yellow bag and it has not gone wrong for me.

How often should you repot

Wax Plants should wait at least 5 years between a repot. Their are Hoya's that have stayed in their pot for 30 years.

Growth Scale

These plants are very slow-growing plants. Wax Plants grow a lot during the summer when it is hot and humid.

Pot

These plants would like a nice terra-cotta pot.

Pests

Mealy Bugs and Spider Mites are the most common pest found on Hoya's

Propagation

These plants are very easy to propagate in soil and water just cut below the node which is where the leaves are and strip the leaves on the last node and put them in water or soil. These plants can also be divided but it is best to cut them.

Roots

The roots on a Hoya are very shallow so they do not like to be messed with.

Humidity

This plant is very tolerant of low humidity so if you live in a dry environment this is the plant for you. The goal should be 50% for this plant to grow at its best but will do well in the lower thirties.

Toxic

I think not these plants will not hurt your pets but they will puke it up because a Hoya leaf is so thick.

Flowers

These plants flower beautiful flowers normally after 3 years of being in a good spot. There will be a picture of one of the flowers down below.

Extra

Wax Plants put off these vines and then they shoot off leaves so do not cut these off period.
