Peperomia Care (Baby Rubber Plant)

Water

Baby Rubber Plants do not need a lot of water due to there succulent leaves.

Light

These plants need medium to high indirect light. I do not recommend a lot of direct light unless it is from an east window.

Window

Peperomia's like all windows but North. About 3 feet from a South window, 2 feet from a West, and right in front of an East.

Easy Scale

These plants are decently easy given that you do not over water them and give them decent light.

Soil

Baby Rubber Plants prefer a decently airy soil so about 60% regular potting soil and 40% cactus soil. You can also just use an all purpose soil.

How often should you re-pot

Peperomia's should be re-poted about every three years if giving decent care.

Growth Scale

I am going to put this plant in the medium range because it grows leaves decently fast, but it takes longer for the plant to get big.

Pot

These plants should do well in most pots but will do better in terra-cotta.

Pests

Baby Rubber Plants can get fungus gnats, spider mites, and mealy bugs.

Propagation

To propagate these magnificent plants you can cut below the leaf, (which is where the node is), and stick it in soil or water. If you propagate by soil make sure to keep the soil moist for the first month but not wet.

Roots

The roots on this plant are very thin so please be careful when you are re-potting.

Humidity

Peperomia's can handle any type of humidity from low to high. These plants will do best around 45% to 75% humidity though.

Toxic

I am happy to say that this plant is non-toxic, so it is completely safe to be around pets and kids.
