Water

Water your Poinsettia when the dirt is partially dry or when it gets to the three on your moisture meter.

Light

These plants need medium or bright indirect light unless you are keeping them only for the season.

Window

Poinsettia's prefer an East or West window but will live in a North window.

Easy Scale

These plants are hard to take care of them because of what you have to do to get them to bloom and survive after they bloom.

Soil

An all-purpose potting soil is just fine for these plants like Miracle grow

Re-potting

Poinsettia needs to be repotted every 1 or 2 years.

Pests

Pests include whiteflies, mealybugs, spider mites, thrips

Roots

They have decently strong root systems

Humidity

They will do their best at 40% to 85% humidity.

Toxic

These gorgeous plants have a bit of an evil side as they are toxic so keep them away from your kids and children.

Flowers

The flowers are not real flowers they are bracts and they bloom around wintertime.

Long-Term Care

For these plants, after Christmas, you need to cut down to the node where the colorful bracts are. When you do this there are normally 3 or 4 leaves, and you need to leave it alone and after a couple of months, it will start to grow new leaves.

Re-Blooming

Three to five weeks before Christmas put it under a grow light that is red for 2 to 3 hours daily.
